Career Goals

As I progress in my college career, many things I want to achieve as a dietetics professional become eminent. Following completion of the registered dietitian exam, I plan to begin working at a hospital to gain experience as a clinical dietitian. I have an interest in pediatrics and feel the obesity epidemic in children is something I would like to address and possibly research. I would like to implement stronger nutrition curriculum in schools, in which dietetics professionals play a more prominent role. I also plan on being an instructor of a basic nutrition course at a community college and conducting forums on healthy living. I was approached by the director of the community college I attended and tutored algebra to instruct upon receiving my degree. I also have a desire in obtaining extra credentials, such as certifications. I have a strong interest in diabetes, with it being my inspiration for getting into the dietetics field. I would like to work with patients struggling with this disease and be a certified diabetes educator. I am also intrigued by research, and would love to be involved in research as I become more experienced in the dietetics field. My passion for athletics and physical activity make me want to be involved with sports nutrition and work with athletes. My career goals reflect my interests and are varied, but I know with my hard work ethic and determination they will be attainable
