Dear Ms. Robinson
As my undergraduate career nears an end, one of the most imperative decisions that will greatly impact my life draws near. Choosing a dietetic internship that meets my criteria and best utilizes my skills as a rising dietetics professional is a daunting task. A culmination of my work ethic, trust that people put in me, my people skills, and my passion for nutrition are all attributes that would make me an excellent candidate for The Vanderbilt Dietetic Internship Program at Vanderbilt University. Above all, I am a self motivated individual and would be a great asset to the internship. Being a Tennessee native, I have witnessed, first hand, the research and expertise Vanderbilt University Medical Center can offer. This makes me aware that Vanderbilt is the ideal university to pursue my dietetic internship and would be honored to be considered as a member of the dietetic internship class.
There are distinct points in my life that have made me realize that nutrition is my passion, whether it be intrigue in research or a family member being newly diagnosed with a diet related disorder. The ever-changing field of dietetics continually sparks enthusiasm in me. This passion drives me to excel academically in my nutrition courses here at the University of Tennessee. Being a member of an undergraduate nutrition student association and volunteering with kids in a nutrition focused after school program have given me nutrition experience in the community. I have also obtained an Associate of Science degree with a perfect academic record. While obtaining this degree, I was an active member of the campus activities board and volunteered with organizing various events for the student body. Also, being given the opportunity to work as an algebra tutor gave me a feel for a variety of people’s personalities and I feel that these people skills would reflect in any environment. I have also worked in retail, where I was a sales associate, dealt with customer issues, and worked with management and fellow employees in a team environment. I feel my accomplishments, work ethic, and people skills make me an excellent candidate for The Vanderbilt Dietetic Internship Program at Vanderbilt University.
I would appreciate your consideration and further review of my qualifications. My online portfolio is available at www.tiffanymarieford.blogspot.com . Feel free to contact me with questions or for any additional information you may need.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Tiffany Ford
